the Department of Sociology at the University of Limerick, Ireland wish
to announce
Riot Grrrl! A Day Symposium on Women and Rock Music
April 16th, 2013 @ University of Limerick, IRELAND.
Invited Speakers:
Dr Julia Downes (Durham University): Editor of 'Women Make Noise: Girl Bands from Motown to the Modern'
Dr Helen Reddington (University of East London) Author of 'The Lost Women of Rock Music: Female Musicians of the Punk Era'.
In
addition to Papers, a Panel Discussion, and a Documentary Screening,
the event will feature a Public Interview and ‘unplugged’ performance by
the band GIRL IN A COMA
